2. What data we collect

Contact form

When you submit the contact form on our website (powered by Forminator), we collect the information you provide: your name, email address, and the content of your message. If you select an expedition interest from the dropdown, we collect that as well.

Lead magnet (Expedition Readiness Plan)

When you request the free Expedition Readiness Plan, we collect your email address. We use this solely to deliver the document and may follow up with expedition-related information. You can unsubscribe from any follow-up emails at any time.

Cookies

We use cookies for basic website functionality and to remember your cookie consent preference. See Section 6 below for details.

Server logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic access data: your IP address, browser type, referring page, and the pages you visit. This data is used for security monitoring and basic site analytics. It is not linked to your identity.

To operate this website, we rely on a limited number of third-party services:

• Web hosting: Our hosting provider stores website files and server logs. Their servers may be located outside Nepal.
• Forminator (contact form): Form submissions are processed and stored within our WordPress installation. Data is not sent to a third-party service by the form plugin itself.
• Email delivery: We may use a third-party email service provider to deliver the Readiness Plan and any follow-up emails. If we do, your email address is shared with that provider solely for delivery purposes.
• Analytics: If we use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics or a privacy-focused alternative), they may collect anonymized usage data. We will update this section when a specific analytics tool is implemented.
• TranslatePress: Our translation plugin processes page content for the Russian-language version of the site. It does not collect personal visitor data.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on our web hosting servers. We take reasonable measures to protect it, including keeping WordPress and all plugins updated, using HTTPS encryption for all connections, and restricting administrative access.

This website is not directed at anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal data through our site, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. International data transfers

Chatours Treks & Expeditions Pvt. Ltd. is based in Nepal. If you are visiting this website from outside Nepal, your data may be transferred to and stored on servers in Nepal or in the country where our hosting provider operates.
